We started this because we couldn't find what we were looking for in a studio. Real coaching. Real programming. People who knew our names. So we built one. Then we built a second one.

Unlocked opened in Devonbosch as a strength and conditioning studio for people who wanted to be coached — not left alone with a machine and a YouTube tab. Club Sweat opened in the town centre as our boutique heated ritual experience.

Two rooms, two moods, one team behind both. We're a husband-and-wife operation with the receipts to prove we care about what we serve.

We sweat the small stuff: load progression that builds, cycles that actually cycle, conditioning that fits the strength block — not the other way around. These choices might seem subtle, but like any good training programme, they're made up of hundreds of quiet, thoughtful decisions.

The pros don't just lift heavy and hope — they take everything into account, from how you slept to where you are in the cycle. We bring that same mindset to what we write. Every set, every rest interval, every progression is considered. Because the difference between decent and exceptional results is usually just a bit of care and discipline.

We're not reinventing strength — we're just writing it with intention. Taking the proven basics and giving them shape with a modern expression of coaching. Programming is where principle meets progress. And in our view, that's the only way forward.

Training has never been a one-size-fits-all kind of game. You can give four people the same workout, the same weight, and the same instructions — and they'll all execute it differently. That's what makes coaching matter. Some need more load, some less; some need their form fixed, some need permission to push.

We see that responsiveness as the heart of what we do. A coach on the floor, watching, adjusting, calling names. A way of saying, "this is how YOU train today." Unlocked exists to give that personalisation a real home — through coaches who let everyone show up the way they need to: capable, seen, and uniquely supported.

We come from real training backgrounds, and we bring those references with us — from strength & conditioning to athletics, from physio to nutrition. Training has room for more ways to show up, and if you've got your own goals, we think you should have your own plan.

The official handbook for "how to run a gym" is a thick document, but at Unlocked our number one rule is simple: be lekker. It's not complicated — say hi to the new person, finish your set before checking your phone, back your mate when they're spiralling on the last round. The training reveals character, and we're here for the people who bring the right kind.

That mindset starts in your session — your crew, your row of bikes, your training partner — but it doesn't stop there. It stretches to the coaches who remember your name, words of encouragement to the member who's just started, and the people who've never felt like a gym was made for them. The culture we build in small groups shapes the culture of the whole studio.

We want training to feel less like a members-only handshake and more like an open invite. That's why we work with people and communities who reflect what training could be — not just what it's always been. Welcoming. Humble. Inclusive without trying too hard.

Because training is better when everyone feels like they belong.
